John Bender annoucement

In Fine Prints, Volume 3, Number 4, March 1934, read the following: "Due either to a more careful selection on the part of the Director, Mr. Alfred Fowler, or to a very marked increase in the ability of the artists exhibiting, this second exhibition is far better than the first held a year ago. This improvement is noteworthy as the high quality of last year's exhibition has been remarked upon many times throughout the past year by critics in various cities where it has been shown. I understand it has a full schedule ahead up until next fall."
" In the second exhibition are to be found many new names, several of them well known artists who were a little reluctant to come into the first show. It speaks well for The Woodcut Society that "Upland Pastures" by Thomas W. Nason has been selected for their next publication. In my judgement it is the best block print I have see in quite some time."
" I understand there are a few vacancies in the membership of The Woodcut Society. Dues are $10.00 per year which entitles members to all of the publications of the Society. Two original signed proofs of woodcuts by well known artists have been issued each year since the Society was organized. For membership in the Society or information address: The Woodcut Society, 1234 Board of Trade Building, Kansas City, Missouri. This organization deserves your support."
